On Wednesday, September 25th, Saluda started feeling the early storm of Hurricane Helene. By Thursday, Helene had reached landfall and the destruction fell upon the southeast area. Western North Carolina had no idea of the destruction it would receive from this enormous storm. When the storm had passed, and we could all assess the damages and the needs, the outpouring of support was as monumental as the storm itself.
Everyone at the Saluda Pantry is grateful for the donations and volunteer support that has been provided.
We still have a long road ahead of us as our community members and everyone affected throughout Western North Carolina rebuilds and recovers. The Pantry is dedicated to continue collecting donations – monetary and supplies – to provide community members with the essentials they need. Thank you for continuing to help us with our cause.

If you or your family are facing food insecurity or have experienced loss due to Helene, we are here to help. Visit our Saluda location at 54 Carolina Street (behind the Library) to shop our pantry or discuss your needs. We are open Tuesdays, Thursdays from 10am – 4pm & Saturdays from 10am – 2pm.
